We'll be back to normal soon: Pfizer CEO gives optimistic prognosis on COVID-19 pandemic

The CEO of the American pharmaceutical company Pfizer Albert Burla predicts that in the spring of 2022 the world will return to normal life. This will happen thanks to vaccines and other drugs from COVID-19.

The head of the company made this statement in an interview with La Repubblica. At the same time, Burla said that for a few more years we will have to live with a virus that is difficult to eradicate.

"The question is not whether the virus will disappear, but whether we will be able to return to normal life. I think we can do that as early as this spring with the tools at our disposal: tests, vaccines and the first drugs we can take at home," the Pfizer CEO said.

He noted that people in their risk groups could be prescribed Paxlovid, which, for example, will go on sale in France by the end of January. This will avoid congestion in hospitals.
