Head of "Ukrenergo" confirmed dates of UES of Ukraine in isolated mode on February 24-26 - mass media

The system tests of the United Energy System of Ukraine (UES) in conditions of isolation from the energy systems of the bordering states will be carried out on February 24-26, the head of the NEC Ukrenergo Volodymyr Kudrytskyy confirmed, according to a report from the information and advisory resource ICIS (London).

"ICIS interlocutor head of the transmission system operator "Ukrenergo" Volodymyr Kudrytskyy noted that the tests are planned for February 24-26 and involve work in complete isolation," - stated in the message.

It is also noted that Ukraine is fully ready for the isolated mode at the end of February, which is part of the program to prepare for synchronization with ENTSO-E, planned for next year.

ICIS specifies that the isolated mode involves disconnecting Ukraine's power system from the networks of Russia and Belarus in the east and from Romania, Hungary and Slovakia in the west, with the next phase of isolated mode tests expected in June.

At the same time, the resource notes that Ukraine has accumulated about 700,000 tons of coal to ensure the operation of the power system in isolation and plans to increase these reserves to approximately 1 million tons next month.

As reported, the National Commission, which carries out state regulation in the field of energy and utilities (NKREKU), earlier adopted a number of regulations governing the operation of the Ukrainian UPS in isolation, including the connection of "Burshtynska TPP island" to the UPS for this time. According to the regulator's regulations, Ukrenergo is obliged to publish on its website the timing of the isolation seven days before it begins.

A few days earlier, the Ministry of Energy of Belarus noted that Ukraine would shut down cross-border power lines with Belarus on February 24-26, but it would not have a negative impact on the Belarusian energy system.

Neither the Ministry of Energy of Ukraine nor Ukrenergo have yet commented on the terms of the isolated regime.
