The U.S. announced the temporary relocation of the embassy from Kiev to Lviv

The United States of America is temporarily moving its embassy from Kiev to Lviv. The measures are related to the threat of a Russian invasion of Ukraine. US Secretary of State Anthony Blinken said in a statement.

According to him, the State Department is constantly monitoring the security situation in Ukraine.

"On that basis, we are in the process of temporarily relocating our embassy in Ukraine from Kiev to Lviv due to the dramatic acceleration of the Russian build-up. The embassy will continue to interact with the Ukrainian government coordinating diplomatic activities in the country. We are also continuing our intensive diplomatic efforts to de-escalate the crisis," Blinken said.

He also assured that moving the embassy to Lviv does not undermine American support for Ukraine. In addition, Blinken once again urged all American citizens to leave the country immediately.
