Ukraine created a corridor for ships due to the Russian blockade of the Black Sea

The State Hydrographic Service of Ukraine has defined a corridor for safe entry of merchant ships into Ukrainian ports. The depth is confirmed at 15-22,5 meters. This is reported by the press service of the Ministry of Infrastructure.

As noted in the press service of the Ministry of Infrastructure, thus prevented blocking the work of the Black Sea ports of Ukraine. The corridor determined due to the study ensures the safe passage of ships through the Gulf of Odesa.

During the past 24 hours there was an uninterrupted traffic of merchant ships. Most of the vessels adhered to the recommendations and used the sea corridor, bypassing the zone of illegal military exercises of the Russian Federation, the report says.

As a reminder, the State Hydrographic Service of Ukraine carried out soundings in the Danube bank to find safe passage of ships in connection with the blocking of recommended sea routes to commercial ports in the Gulf of Odesa by the Russian Federation.

SHS Gosgidrografia's special-purpose vessels have performed 450 kilometers of line survey of the bottom structure in the area of the Dniester bank. The surveys confirmed the safety for navigation of the sea corridor between the western border of the area of the Russian Federation illegal exercise and the Dniester bank.

At the time of the research the Ministry of Infrastructure recommended this route for merchant ships and thanks to that Ukrainian ports were working normally. Bulker MV Melia was the first, but not the only vessel of Panamax type, which successfully passed the new route from Yuzhny port.
