At least 663 children have suffered at the hands of Russian occupiers in Ukraine

At least 663 children have already suffered as a result of Russia's full-scale invasion of Ukraine, 232 of whom have died, the Office of the Prosecutor General said.

 

"More than 663 children have suffered in Ukraine as a result of the full-scale armed aggression of the Russian Federation. As of the morning of May 23, 2022, the official number of child victims has not changed - 232. The number of wounded has increased - 431," the prosecutor's office reported.

 

The most injured children, as indicated, in the Donetsk region - 145, Kyiv - 116, Kharkiv - 102, Chernihiv - 68, Kherson - 49, Lugansk - 48, Mykolaiv - 45, Zaporozhzhia - 28, Sumy - 17, in the city of Kyiv - 16, Zhitomyr - 15.

 

These figures are not final, since work is under way to establish them in places of active combat operations, in the temporarily occupied and liberated territories.

 

Thus, on May 21, a 7-year-old girl was wounded as a result of shelling by the occupants in the village of Molodezkoye in the Bilozersk district of the Kherson region.

 

Due to the bombing and shelling of Ukrainian towns and villages by the Russian armed forces, 1,837 educational institutions were damaged. At the same time, 172 of them were completely destroyed, according to the Office of the Prosecutor General.
