According to Peter Adams, adviser on maritime security to the United Nations, even if the ports want to open tomorrow, it will still take some time before ships can go out to the open sea.

"It will take several months to completely defuse sea mines in port areas," he said.

According to him, about 80 ships with about 450 sailors remain stranded in Ukrainian ports. About a third of them are from the Philippines, but many people from Azerbaijan, Turkey and Syria also remain there.
