Ukraine will receive self-propelled howitzers "in the near future" - head of the German Ministry of Defense

The training of Ukrainian soldiers on self-propelled howitzers Panzerhaubitze 2000 in Germany will be completed "in the near future.

This was announced by Defense Minister Christine Lambrecht, reports Bild.

According to the minister, the weapons can then be delivered to Ukraine. When exactly and how the howitzer will be delivered, she did not say.

According to the current status, Germany wants to provide Ukraine with seven self-propelled howitzers from Bundeswehr stocks.

In addition, the government is in the process of preparing with the U.S. for the delivery of multiple rocket launchers, which Ukraine needs.

Germany earlier announced plans to supply the Ukrainian Armed Forces with the Gepard, Panzerhaubitze 2000 howitzers, the Iris-T anti-aircraft system and the Mars multiple rocket launcher system.

But the government noted that for organizational and security reasons it was difficult to talk about the schedule of arms supplies to Ukraine.

Earlier it was reported that despite Scholz's statements about increasing military aid to Ukraine, it has not yet received a single unit of German arms.
