Russia decided not to exchange Ukrainian prisoners of war

Russia has decided not to exchange Ukrainian prisoners of war. They plan to place them in temporary detention facilities.

This was announced by the head of the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation Alexander Bastrykin, reports "Fontanka".

"We decided not to give them (Ukrainian fighters - ed.), agreed, where appropriate. Otherwise they thought: 'we will surrender and go to the families.' No, to temporary detention facilities, to the SIZO," he said.

According to him, 2 thousand Ukrainian prisoners arrived "yesterday".

Also in Moscow they want to force the Ukrainian military to compensate "material damage due to the hostilities" in the cities of Ukraine.

Recall, on June 28, another exchange of prisoners between Ukraine and Russia took place. The exchange took place according to the formula 17 to 15. Ukraine returned home two officers and 14 soldiers. Some of them are seriously wounded.

Also earlier, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Reintegration Iryna Vereshchuk said that more than 1,500 Ukrainian civilians were held in Russian prisons.
