Zelensky: we need new sanctions against Russia because of the threat of a nuclear catastrophe

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky stressed that new sanctions are needed against the terrorist state and the entire Russian nuclear industry for creating threats of a nuclear disaster. This was stated by the President of Ukraine in his video address.

"We actively inform the world about the Russian nuclear blackmail - the shelling and mining of Zaporizhzhia NPP facilities. There is already a response from the international community. But it is necessary to speed up the response. russia will not count on words and concerns. We need new sanctions against the terrorist state and the whole Russian nuclear industry for creating threats of a nuclear catastrophe", he said.

Zelensky noted that the world should not forget about Chernobyl and remember that the Zaporizhzhia nuclear power plant is the largest in Europe.

"The Chernobyl disaster is an explosion in one reactor, the Zaporizhzhia NPP is six power units," the president of Ukraine stressed.

It should be noted that as a result of shelling by the Russian occupants at the Zaporizhzhia NPP there remain risks of hydrogen leakage and dispersal of radioactive substances. The fire danger is also high.

In addition, the Russian occupiers are already openly blackmailing the entire world by claiming that Zaporizhzhia NPP is mined and ready to blow it up. In his statement, Major General Valery Vasilyev, head of the Russian Armed Forces of Radiation, Chemical and Biological Defense, who now commands the Zaporizhzhia garrison, said that "there will be either Russian soil or a scorched desert.
