The EU advocated the construction of transport corridors to Central Asia bypassing the Russian Federation

The head of the EU foreign policy department, Josep Borrell, said that the European Union wants to expand cooperation with the states of Central Asia, including the construction of transport corridors bypassing Russia.

The European Union should deepen cooperation with Central Asia, believes the head of European diplomacy, Josep Borrell. In his opinion, it is necessary to use the potential of the region in energy supplies, import of critical raw materials and new transport corridors bypassing Russia.

"As the EU, we are obviously interested in taking advantage of these changes. We must deepen ties with the region, use its enormous potential, represented in energy supplies, the supply of critical raw materials and new transport corridors that are independent of Russia," Borrell wrote in a blog after the trip to Central Asia.

He noted that it is about the Trans-Caspian corridor, the development of which was discussed during his visit to Kazakhstan.

Josep Borrell previously stated that peace in Ukraine is impossible until Russia withdraws its troops, although Moscow shows no signs of readiness to do so.
