The creation of a powerful offensive group in Belarus is not noted, but the threat remains - GUR

The Main Directorate of Intelligence of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine does not emphasize the creation of a powerful offensive group on the territory of Belarus, however, the threat remains, said the representative of the GUR of Ukraine, Vadym Skybytskyi.

"Today, we do not note the creation of a powerful offensive group there, which was deployed on the territory of Belarus during January-February. But at the same time, about 9,000 servicemen, the 1st Tank Army conducted appropriate combat training measures, combat coordination of units is underway, and we clearly know that this process is controlled by the General Staff of the Russian Armed Forces, the command of the 1st Tank Army. We do not exclude that there may be two options for the use of this division: either from the territory of Belarus, or a rotational return to the territory of Ukraine - possibly to Kharkiv or other directions," Skibytskyi said on the air of the national telethon on Wednesday.

According to him, at the same time, "the threat remains."

"The only problem is that today there are not enough weapons transported to the territory of Belarus. The Russian Federation is now actively removing military equipment from warehouses, arsenals, centers for ensuring the mobilization deployment of weapons, precisely in order to replenish the losses that the enemy suffered on our territory and to complete the compounds and parts that are created during the mobilization," said Skibytskyi. .

He added that an intensification of combat training is now expected in Belarus.

Skibytsky reported that the GUR of the Ministry of Defense does not record the supply of missiles from Iran to the Russian Federation.

"According to our information, such negotiations were held. There are relevant draft agreements between Russia and Iran, but to date we have not recorded the supply of such weapons," he said.
