Bundestag: The US will support Germany's decision to transfer tanks to Ukraine

The head of the defense committee of the Bundestag, Marie-Agnes Strack-Zimmerman, confirmed that the US will support the transfer of Leopard 2 tanks by Germany to Ukraine, as reported by the media.

She wrote about it on Twitter.

"This was also confirmed during my visit to Washington during all the discussions in the State Department, Congress and the Senate. Our partners expect Germany to fulfill its obligations. We must not leave Ukraine. You need tanks," Strack wrote. Zimmerman.

On December 7, the German publication FAZ reported that the United States made it clear to the German government that it supports the delivery of German Leopard 2 main battle tanks to Ukraine if Berlin dares to do so.

It is clarified that the USA did not ask Germany to make such supplies.

It is noted that only from the stocks of the manufacturers Rheinmetall and Krauss-Maffei Wegmann, Germany could provide 80 units in the shortest possible time. Another 30 units will be used in the combat training center of the Bundeswehr to represent enemy tanks.
