The Congress of Judges of Ukraine elected all 8 members of the Supreme Judicial Council according to their quota

The XIX extraordinary congress of judges in Kyiv on Thursday elected all eight members of the Supreme Council of Justice (VRP) according to their quota, reports the Council of Judges of Ukraine.

 

 "The delegates of the 19th Extraordinary Congress of Judges of Ukraine elected all 8 members of the VRP according to the quota from the judicial community," the Council of Judges said in a statement.

 

 The message emphasizes that Serhii Burlakov, the judge of the Civil Court of Cassation within the Supreme Court, who was elected by the results of a second round of secret voting, became the eighth member of the VRP.

 

 "Thus, the 19th Extraordinary Congress of Judges of Ukraine elected all 8 members of the High Council of Justice, which will allow to restore the work of the body of judicial self-government, unblock a number of processes in the judiciary related to the work of courts and personnel issues, as well as to continue the implementation of tasks, related to judicial reform," the Council of Judges emphasizes.

 

 Judge Alla Kotelevets of the Kharkiv Court of Appeals, Judge of the Civil Court of Cassation within the Supreme Court Hryhoriy Usyk, Judge of the Lviv District Administrative Court Oleksandr Sasevich, Judge of the Economic Court of Donetsk Oblast Yuliya Bokova, Judge of the Northern Appeal Court of Mykolaiv Court of Appeal Tetyana Bondarenko, judge of the Kherson District Administrative Court Olena Kovbiy, judge of the Civil Court of Cassation within the Supreme Court Serhiy Burlakov.

 

 All newly elected members of the VRP took the oath and will serve in the judicial management body for the next four years.

 

 "The election of candidates from the Congress of Judges of Ukraine will allow to unblock the work of the High Council of Justice and will return to it the institutional ability to make decisions, since with the newly elected members, the quantitative composition of the Supreme Judicial Council will amount to 15 people, and this is the necessary quorum for the work of the collective body," - concluded the Council of Judges .
