Kyiv: The captain of the Ukrainian national biathlon team, Yulia Jima, won the individual race at the World Cup stage in Pokljuka, Slovenia. This was reported by the sports specialized media.
“Jim started in the last group under the 94th starting number, but it played into her hands, as the track froze a little, plus she knew the results of competitors. After closing all 20 targets in the race, after the 4th shooting, Jim emerged as the leader with a confident margin of 15 seconds from polka Monica Hoinish. However, 1.3 km before the finish, the time gap between Jim and Hoynish was reduced to two seconds, but at that moment the coaches made the right words to Jim to add in the last segment and she was able to even slightly increase the lead from Hoynish, ”the report stated.
It is worth noting that this is the first victory of Julia Jim in the World Cup. In addition, in the first 20-ku were other Ukrainian women - Anastasia Merkushina, Elena Pidgrushnaya and Julia Zhuravok.
Recall the second place in the World Biathlon Championship in the 15-kilometer women's distance was won by the polka Monica Chojno, and the third - the Czech Marketa Davydova.
