Kyiv: The military in Gabon, a country on the west coast of Central Africa, took control of a state-owned broadcasting station, where they announced the creation of a National Restoration Council due to a loss of confidence in President Ali Bongo Ondimba.

This is reported by the BBC.

“On the radio, the military reported that it was time to restore democracy in Gabon. They remembered the President’s New Year’s address, in which he assured that he was feeling well and could continue to govern the country, calling him a pitiful spectacle,” the report says.

The current president, Ali Bongo, is now outside of Gabon.
