Kiev: Russian Foreign Affairs Minister Sergei Lavrov called the “Steinmeier formula” a compromise to the Minsk agreements.
This was reported by the press service of the Russian Foreign Affairs Ministry.
“There can be no Plan B, the Minsk Agreements are the basis on which everything should be built,” - the minister said.
Lavrov also noted that the “Steinmeier formula” is already a compromise to the Minsk agreements, since it provides for the consolidation of the special status of Donbass not before, but after local elections in the region.
“Therefore, there is no waste from the basic principles of the Minsk agreements, including amnesty, the special status enshrined in the constitution, the withdrawal of forces and means, the complete restoration of economic ties, the lifting of the blockade, which completely contradicted the Minsk agreements. All this remains unchanged, without this nothing will work out”, - the Russian Foreign Minister emphasized.
He also added that after the signing of the Steinmeier formula, the timing of the Norman summit should be determined by the presidents.
