Kyiv: Alexander Tkachenko became the new Minister of Culture and Information Policy of Ukraine. The corresponding decision was made during a meeting of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine on Thursday, June 4.
263 deputies voted “for” the appointment of Tkachenko as Minister.
Alexander Tkachenko is a non-partisan MP from the Servant of the People party. Previously, Tkachenko headed the holding 1 + 1 MEDIA, owned by Ukrainian oligarch Ihor Kolomoyskiy. The fact that Tkachenko will run for the post of Minister of Culture and Information Policy became known on June 1. At the same time, Tkachenko also put forward his candidacy for primaries for the mayoral election of Kyiv from the Servant of the people.
