In Ukraine may cancel military conscription, but for such a decision should consult with experts. This was stated by the new Minister of Defense Alexei Reznikov on the air of Ukraine 24.

"There are thoughts to cancel completely (military conscription - Ed.), there are thoughts to leave in a minimal amount. I want to understand both positions from experts. Today we have a contract army, as the main component, but I think we need to strive and take care of creating a transition to the professional army, "- said the Minister.

Reznikov also added that the army should become one of the best employers in the country and the service in it should become attractive.

The Minister also hopes that the law on the basics of national resistance and the creation of territorial defense troops will become a substitute for the draft. That is, after training, people will be included in the register of territorial defense, it will be like a mobilization reserve.
