The Ministry of Health told if there is Omicron in Ukraine

As of Thursday, December 9, no cases of the new strain of "Omicron" coronavirus have been detected in Ukraine. Samples indicating an atypical course of the disease are now being examined.

This is reported by RBC-Ukraine with reference to the briefing of the chief sanitary doctor of Ukraine Igor Kuzin.

"Now all samples indicating an atypical course of the disease, in particular in those people who have returned from abroad, or live in areas where there is a significant surge of the disease, are subject to careful examination," Kuzin said.

According to the medical official, so far all the samples indicate only that the Delta strain of coronavirus is spreading in each region.

Recall that the new Omicron coronavirus strain could have a major impact on the course of the coronavirus pandemic.

And the director general of the World Health Organization (WHO) Tedros Adanom Gebreyesus said that the new Omicron coronavirus strain causes a milder COVID disease than the "Delta" variant. However, the head of the organization stressed that it is too early to draw conclusions.
