Russian President Vladimir Putin did not wish New Year and Christmas greetings to the presidents of Ukraine and Georgia.

 

Volodymyr Zelensky and Salome Zurabishvili were not among the 42 leaders, to whom Putin sent his official greetings. Also Putin has not congratulated the leaders of the Baltic States - Lithuania, Latvia and Estonia.

 

Of the leaders of post-Soviet countries, Putin congratulated, in particular, President Ilham Aliyev of Azerbaijan, Armenian President Armen Sarkisian, President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev of Kazakhstan and former President Nursultan Nazarbayev, President Maia Sandu of Moldova.

 

The message also mentions "the head of Abkhazia" Aslan Bzhania, "the president of Belarus" Alexander Lukashenko, and "the president of South Ossetia" Anatoly Bibilov.

 

Of the current politicians, Putin congratulated, among others, German President Frank-Walter Steinmeier and Federal Chancellor Olaf Scholz.
