Medvedchuk will remain under house arrest. Court extends measure of restraint

The Pechersky District Court of Kyiv has once again extended house arrest of Viktor Medvedchuk, an MP of the "Opposition Platform - For Life". In view of today's decision, he will be under this measure of restraint for 10 months already. This is reported on Facebook his associate Renat Kuzmin.

"The judge of the Pechersky court of Kiev Belotserkovets just extended Medvedchuk house arrest to 10 months, despite the fact that by law the maximum period of house arrest cannot exceed 6 months", - said Kuzmin.

It should be noted that the maximum term of house arrest for Medvedchuk expired back in November 2021 in the so-called "Crimean case", in which he is accused of treason and attempted plunder of subsoil on the occupied peninsula.

This case concerns the development of the "Glubokoye" gas field on the Black Sea shelf. According to the investigation, Medvedchuk colluded with Russian officials to extract minerals there.

We shall remind you that since October 2021, the MP has been under round-the-clock arrest in the case of coal smuggling from occupied Donbass, in which he is also accused of high treason.
