Erdogan plans visit to Ukraine and offers Zelensky and Putin talks in Turkey

Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan is planning a visit to Ukraine in the coming weeks to hold talks with President Volodymyr Zelensky.

Presidential spokesman Ibrahim Kalin said this in a commentary to the Daily Sabah, writes "European Truth."
Kalyn noted that Turkey is ready to help defuse the situation between Russia and Ukraine. According to him, Erdogan has spoken to both Russian President Vladimir Putin and President Zelensky.
"In fact, he has even invited them both to come to Turkey if they want to meet there and work out their issues and differences," he said.
He added that "Turkey remains available for any role to reduce tensions between Russia and Ukraine."
"And we do that as Turkey, as a country friendly to Russia and Ukraine, and as a NATO ally," he said.
Kalın added that Ankara will keep in touch with the Russians to avoid any military action. "We should all do everything possible to avoid such a situation," he said.
Earlier, Erdoğan had twice offered to mediate between Ukraine and Russia to prevent escalation due to the accumulation of Russian troops on the Ukrainian border.
In December, Foreign Minister Mevlut Cavusoglu said that Turkey was in favor of de-escalation between Ukraine and Russia, but opposed sanctions against Moscow.
