Any invasion of Ukraine would be a serious mistake - Johnson and Scholz warned Russia

British Prime Minister Boris Johnson and German Chancellor Olaf Scholz have agreed on a common position on Russia's actions in the event of an invasion of Ukraine.

This was stated in a statement from the office of the British prime minister after their telephone conversation, writes "European Truth."

"The leaders discussed troubling developments on the Ukrainian border and agreed that further military aggression would be costly for Russia. They shared deep concern over Russia's continued destabilizing actions in Ukraine and said any invasion of Ukraine would be a serious strategic mistake," the statement said.

Johnson noted the importance of NATO allies working together on a coordinated response.

As a reminder, Britain this week began supplying Ukraine with anti-tank weapons to help it defend itself against a potential Russian invasion.

We are talking about the Next Generation Light Anti-Tank Weapon (NLAW), which can destroy a tank at a distance of 800 meters and pierce armor more than 500 mm thick.

At the same time, Germany is against supplying lethal weapons to Ukraine.
