Due to the launch of Dia City, IT sector revenues may increase from $6 billion to $16.5-17 billion - Denis Shmygal

Prime Minister Denis Shmygal during an online event "Reforms for investment in Ukraine", held in preparation for the 5th International Conference on Reforms in Ukraine, outlined the main objectives of the state in the economic and investment spheres for 2022, the Government Portal reports.

 

"This year, the state will invest more than $5 billion in infrastructure development. Within the framework of the presidential program "Big Build" we will start the project of Ukraine's first concessionary highway Krakivets - Lviv - Brody - Rivne. Public-private partnership in road construction will allow to attract hundreds of millions of dollars in new investments, "- Prime Minister stressed.

 

According to Head of the Government, the state expects to attract up to 8 billion UAH from privatization in 2022. This year it is also planned to implement the program "Big thermomodernization" and the launch of "Dia City".

 

"Thanks to Dia City, the growth rate of the IT sector can double to 40-50% per year, and revenues can increase from $6 billion to $16.5-17 billion," said Denis Shmygal.

 

Prime Minister noted that among the key tasks for this year: strengthening energy security of Ukraine, increasing the investment attractiveness of the energy sector and attracting foreign investment needed to achieve the goals of energy independence, decarbonization and clean energy.

 

"We will work to synchronize policies with the European green course by implementing climate commitments and the "green" transition of the economy through energy efficiency, the fair transformation of coal regions and participation in European industrial alliances," - said the head of the Government.

 

In addition, according to Denis Shmygal, within the next two years, the government plans to obtain an industrial, customs, digital, transport and energy "visa-free" from the EU.
