Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky will consider the request of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs regarding the severance of diplomatic relations between Ukraine and the Russian Federation. He said this during a briefing with the President of the Republic of Estonia, Alar Karis.
"I received a request from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs to consider breaking diplomatic relations between Ukraine and the Russian Federation. I will now immediately after our press conference to look at and work through this issue," Zelensky said.
He said he would consider not only this issue, but "our effective steps on the escalation by the Russian Federation."
"We believe that this was an escalation step on the part of Russia, we understand that it is a legal aggression, which gives a fairly solid foundation on the likely escalation on the part of Russia and the militants that surround the temporarily occupied Ukrainian territories," he added.
