The President signed the law on the de-Sovietization of Ukrainian legislation

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky signed the law "On the Desovietization of Ukrainian Legislation," said Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada Ruslan Stefanchuk.

"Well, now there is no mention of 'the victories of the Great October Socialist Revolution' in Ukrainian legislation; no aspiration to implement 'Leninist ideas of building a communist society'; no references to programs developed by the Communist Party; no priority in the rights of Komsomol members, Communists and other 'comrades'; almost 1200 acts of state authorities and administration of the Soviet Union, the Ukrainian SSR were 'purged,'" Stefanchuk wrote Friday on Facebook.

He said that under the law, the Cabinet of Ministers has been instructed to conduct a similar desovietization at its level in the near future, as well as to prepare a new Labor Code, Housing Code and Code of Administrative Misdemeanors.

"Together we have done what people's deputies could not do in the previous 30 years of independence", - summed up the Speaker of Parliament.
