At least 643 children have already suffered at the hands of Russian occupiers in Ukraine

At least 643 children have already suffered as a result of Russia's full-scale invasion of Ukraine, the Office of the Prosecutor General reported.

 

"More than 643 children have suffered in Ukraine as a result of the full-scale armed aggression of the Russian Federation. As of the morning of May 11, 2022, the official number of child victims has not changed - 226. The number of wounded has increased - 417," the report says.

 

As indicated, the most affected children were in the Donetsk region - 139, Kyiv region - 116, Kharkiv region - 99, Chernihiv region - 68, Kherson region - 46, Luhansk region - 45, Mykolaiv region - 44, Zaporizhzhia region - 28, Sumy region - 17, in Kyiv - 16, Zhytomyr region - 15.

 

These figures are not final, since work is under way to establish them in places of active combat operations, in the temporarily occupied and liberated territories.

 

Thus, on May 9, a 13-year-old boy was wounded as a result of shelling by the occupants of a residential area in the town of Lysychansk, Luhansk region.

 

Also, as a result of the daily bombing and shelling of Ukrainian towns and villages by the Russian armed forces, 1,657 educational institutions were damaged. At the same time, 139 of them were completely destroyed, the Office of the Prosecutor General reported.
