Germany will provide Ukraine with 1 billion euros in grant aid. These funds will be sent to Ukraine through the mechanism of the administrative account of the International Monetary Fund. This was reported by the Finance Ministry's press service.
According to the press service, the agreement between the governments of Ukraine and Germany was signed by Ukrainian Finance Minister Serhiy Marchenko and German Finance Minister Christian Lindner. Receipt of the funds is expected in the near future.
"The funds will be sent to the state budget of Ukraine to finance priority social and humanitarian expenditures during martial law," the statement said.
Note that the grant aid means that this money does not need to be returned to Ukraine.
