Britain imposed sanctions against the heads of Russian regions and the Minister of Justice

The United Kingdom on Tuesday expanded sanctions against Russia, adding 41 people and one company to the list in response to Russia's invasion of Ukraine.

This decision was taken by the British government.

The sanctions, which include an entry ban and asset freeze, applied to the heads of Russian regions, in particular the Lipetsk, Vladimir, Samara, Volgograd, Bryansk, Saratov, Leningrad and Tambov regions, the Yamalo-Nenets Autonomous District, the Komi Republic, Yakutia, Chuvashia and other regions.

The list also included Russian Justice Minister Konstantin Chuichenko, nephews of businessman Alisher Usmanov Sanzhar and Sarvar Ismailov, the so-called head of the government of the self-proclaimed "DNR" Vitaly Khotsenko and the so-called first deputy head of the government of the self-proclaimed "LNR" Vladislav Kuznetsova, the "governor" of Sevastopol Mikhail Razvozhayev.

We shall remind you that in early July, the French financial prosecutor's office launched a preliminary investigation into the origins of the wealth of Russian oligarchs close to Vladimir Putin, located on French territory.

Earlier, it was reported that the European Union had frozen Russian assets worth 13.8bn euros since Russia's invasion of Ukraine on 24 February.
