Zelensky and Macron discussed arms supplies and documentation of Russian war crimes

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has held a telephone conversation with French President Emmanuel Macron, during which the leaders discussed security cooperation.

According to the website of the Ukrainian head of state on Monday, the sides agreed to coordinate further actions on providing security assistance to Ukraine by both France and other international partners, in particular on supplying Ukrainian defenders with modern weapons.

Zelensky and Macron touched on the issue of war crimes that Russia continues to commit in Ukraine. The Ukrainian president thanked the French side for sending a group of medics and gendarmes to Ukraine to establish the facts of the aggressor's crimes. The sides discussed the continuation of the work of this group.

The President of Ukraine informed the leader of France about the course of countering Russian aggression and the situation on the battlefield. "We are fighting a war against a real terrorist state. The planned cynical destruction by Russia of Ukrainian prisoners of war in Olenivka is evidence of this," Zelensky stressed.

The sides also discussed France's involvement in the post-war reconstruction of Ukraine, in particular the implementation of the Fast Recovery Plan, as well as the issue of macro-financial support to Ukraine and France's role in this process.

Macron also discussed with Zelensky the topic of global food security, the interlocutors stressed the need for strict implementation of the initiative on the transportation of Ukrainian grain, and also discussed the increase of its export through other logistic routes.

The French head of state spoke about the results of his trip to Africa, one of the results of which was the expansion of the anti-war coalition and the consolidation of international support for Ukraine in the face of full-scale aggression against Ukraine by Russia.

Zelensky invited Macron to take part in the online summit of the international Crimean platform on August 23 this year.
