Hungary wants guarantees from the European Commission that Russian nuclear energy will not fall under the restrictions of the European Union. This was announced on Facebook by the Minister of Foreign Affairs Petro Sijarto.

 

 "The first package of sanctions in Brussels stated that nuclear power would not be subject to sanctions. We call on the European Commission to ensure that every institution in Brussels, every national authority and every bank operating in Europe complies with this provision," it said. in the message.

 

 The Hungarian minister stated this while going to the Congress of Nuclear Energy of Central and Eastern Europe.

 

 The Paksh nuclear power plant is currently being completed by Rosatom. It is completely dependent on Russian nuclear fuel. Recently, Hungary has increased investments in Paks NPP.

 

 Paksh NPP covers about 40% of the country's electricity needs. It was built according to the Soviet project and put into operation in the 80s.
