Scholz advocated reforming and expanding the European Union

The European Union should be reformed, and the principle of unanimity in foreign policy decisions should be gradually abolished. This was announced by German Chancellor Olaf Scholz.

"The single European Union, consisting of 27, 30, 36 states, in which more than 500 million free and equal citizens live, can further strengthen its weight in this world," the chancellor said.

Scholz called for coordinated purchases of weapons and equipment, the creation of an EU rapid response force by 2025 and a true EU headquarters for European armed forces.

Scholz also advocated reforming and expanding the European Union, calling for the gradual abolition of the principle of unanimity in decision-making in foreign policy, as well as in other areas such as tax policy. As the Chancellor of Germany noted, the concerns of small member states should not be ignored either. In the resolution, the congress expressed, among other things, further support for Ukraine, including military support, and further sanctions against Russia.
