Sweden will give up nuclear weapons after joining NATO

Sweden does not intend to host nuclear weapons. It will be announced officially after joining NATO. This is reported by Reutets.

According to the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Sweden, Tobias Bilström, his country is following in the footsteps of its northern neighbors, including Finland. It should be noted that the President of Finland, Sauli Niinist, also ruled out the possibility of placing nuclear weapons on the territory of his country.

At the same time, only recently the Commander-in-Chief of the Swedish Armed Forces, Mikael Büden, recommended that the country's government not set any restrictions before the country's accession to NATO, in particular regarding the placement of nuclear weapons.
