Zelenskiy implemented the decision of the National Security Council to ban the UOC-MP in Ukraine

President Volodymyr Zelenskiy implemented the decision of the National Security and Defense Council to ban religious organizations in Ukraine that are influenced by Russia. The corresponding decree No. 820/2022 was published on the website of the head of state.

 

 "In accordance with Article 107 of the Constitution of Ukraine, I decree: to put into effect the decision of the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine dated December 1, 2022 "On certain aspects of the activity of religious organizations in Ukraine and the application of personal special economic and other restrictive measures (sanctions)", - says the notices in the decree.

 

 The National Security Council instructed the government to submit to the Verkhovna Rada a bill on the banning of religious organizations affiliated with centers of influence in Russia, and the State Service for Ethnopolitics and Freedom of Conscience to ensure a religious examination of the statute on the management of the UOC for the presence of a connection with the Moscow Patriarchate.
