The US wants to extend the grain agreement, - the White House

In the United States of America, they are advocating that the grain agreement, which allows the export of Ukrainian products by sea, be extended.

This was reported by the US National Security Council's strategic communications coordinator, John Kirby, in an interview with MSNBC.

"We want the grain agreement to be extended," Kirby briefly stated in an interview with the TV channel.

Negotiations on the extension of the grain agreement are ongoing.

We would like to remind you that the grain agreement expires on March 18, 2023. Meanwhile, Ukraine is already negotiating with Turkey and the UN regarding its extension.

It should be noted that the head of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation, Serhiy Lavrov, previously put forward demands for the extension of this agreement. He stated that the Russian Federation wants its products to have access to world markets. Later, in Moscow, they began to put forward simpler demands and wanted "fulfillment of obligations on an equal basis."

Instead, Turkey, which is one of the parties to the agreement, said that it is negotiating with the UN, Ukraine and the Russian Federation regarding the extension of the agreement and added that it had seen a "positive invitation" from Moscow.

The UN and Russia are also expected to discuss extending the grain deal next week.
