The Secretary General of the Council of Europe condemned Russia's undermining of the Kakhovskaya HPP

The Secretary General of the Council of Europe Maria Peychynovych-Burych called Russia's undermining of Kakhovskaya HPP criminal and reckless.

 

 "I condemn Russia's destruction of a dam in Ukraine: it is criminal and reckless," she wrote on Twitter.

 

 On the morning of June 6, the Operational Command "South" reported that the Russian occupiers had blown up the Kakhovskaya HPP, which was later confirmed by the OVA. Oleksandr Prokudin, the head of the Kherson Regional State Administration, announced that the evacuation of the local population from dangerous areas had begun.

 

 According to Prokudin, the water will reach a critical level in five hours.

 

 The police noted that the villages of Mykolaivka, Olhivka, Lyovo, Tyaginka, Poniativka, Ivanivka, Tokarivka, Prydniprovske, Sadov and part of the city of Kherson are in the potential flooding zone on the right bank of the Dnipro River - Korabel Island.
