Belgium will consider transferring F-16 fighters to Ukraine

Belgium is studying the possibility of transferring its F-16 fighter jets to Ukraine. This was stated by Belgian Prime Minister Alexander de Croo on September 20 on the sidelines of the UN General Assembly in New York, according to the VRT television network.

He asked the Belgian Ministry of Defense to check the period during which Belgian aircraft can be operated. De Croo noted that by Belgian standards, their F-16s are almost worn out.

"We have to consider all options. If they are still useful in some way, we should certainly find out," he said.

Ukraine could use these aircraft not for real combat operations, but for training, the Belgian prime minister emphasized.
