Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan has said that the Ukrainian and Russian leaders have expressed a preliminary willingness to hold a personal meeting. According to him, a summit between Volodymyr Zelensky and Vladimir Putin may take place in the Turkish city of Istanbul.

Erdogan noted that he received a positive response from Moscow and Kiev regarding the meeting of the leaders. He added that the talks could take place in Istanbul.

 

"A summit of the leaders may take place in Istanbul. As Turkey, we will be very happy," Erdogan told reporters.

 

Earlier, Volodymyr Zelensky had a conversation with Recep Tayyip Erdogan on March 31. The politicians discussed security guarantees for Ukraine.
