The Russian military is again trying to break through the border in the Sumy region. A battle is currently underway.

This became known from the statement of the head of the Sumy RSA Dmitry Zhivitsky.

"The fight in the north of the Shostka district continues, there is an attempt to break through the state border in the area of Seredino-Budy," the official wrote.

According to Zhivitsky, shelling of the region from Russian territory has continued since the morning.

"About 5 hits in the area of Esmani. About 70 explosions in the direction of Boyaro-Lezhachi. Six explosions were recorded near the settlement of Sopich," he added.

There are fires along the border caused by shelling.
