EU approves fourth tranche of military aid to Ukraine - 500 million euros

The EU Council has approved the allocation to Ukraine of the fourth tranche of aid from the European Peace Facility (EPF) in the amount of 500 million euros, which will allow the EU to support the Ukrainian army with arms.

This was reported by the press service of the EU Council.

After accepting three tranches of military support totaling 1.5 billion euros this year, the fourth tranche will add 500 million euros to them, bringing the total to 2 billion euros.

The amount of equipment to be provided under the new support package is in line with current priorities announced by the Ukrainian government, the press service said.

Of the new tranche, €490 million is earmarked for defense lethal strike equipment, and €10 million is earmarked for equipment and supplies such as personal protective equipment, first aid kits and fuel.

Previous tranches of EU aid were agreed to on Feb. 28, March 23 and April 13, 2022.
