At least 917 children injured in Ukraine as a result of the Russian invasion

At least 917 children suffered as a result of the full-scale invasion of Ukraine by the Russian Federation: 324 were killed and 593 wounded. This was reported by the Office of the Prosecutor General.

 

"More than 917 children have suffered in Ukraine as a result of the full-scale armed aggression of the Russian Federation. As of the morning of June 23, 2022, the official number of child victims for the day has not changed - 324. The number of wounded has increased - 593," the report said.

 

As noted, these figures are inconclusive, because work is under way to identify the victims and those killed in places of active hostilities, in the temporarily occupied and liberated territories.

 

Most affected children in the Donetsk region - 308, Kharkiv - 175, Kyiv - 116, Chernihiv - 68, Lugansk - 54, Kherson - 52, Mykolaiv - 48, Zaporizhzhia- 31, Sumy - 17.

 

It was also established that by bombing and shelling, the Russian Army damaged 2,056 educational institutions, of which 212 were completely destroyed.

 

More than 100 women and more than 1.5 thousand civilians are being held captive by the Russian occupiers. More than 2 thousand orphaned children were forcibly removed.
