Shmygal announced mass privatization: what will be sold from September 1

From September 1 Ukraine should start privatization on a mass scale. Prime Minister Denis Shmygal said during a conference call with the heads of regions that they will sell objects that have not been used for years.

This is reported by the press service of the government.

"The President of Ukraine has set the task of launching privatization since September. To do this, the Verkhovna Rada has adopted the relevant legislation, the Government has developed all the by-laws. We must make this process as fast as possible," he said.

At the same time, according to Prime Minister, the government runs grant programs to motivate businesses and people to create jobs as much as possible.

"Small-scale privatization, especially in the regions, where people in villages and towns know the facilities that have been standing for years and used inefficiently, is designed to provide an opportunity to buy these facilities for a fair price and start working," said Shmygal.

Privatization will also provide an opportunity to expand production for agrarians. The Ministry of Economy said that auctions for elevator facilities and bakeries will be announced in early September, according to the schedule. Market operators, who see the lack of capacity, will be able to participate in these tenders.

Recall that on July 28, the Verkhovna Rada passed a law to simplify privatization, including the facilitation of enterprise relocation.
