Estonia is preparing to officially recognize Russia as a terrorist state

Urgent decisions to recognize Russia as a terrorist state are expected in the Estonian parliament this week.

This was announced by the head of the Estonian parliament's committee on foreign affairs, Marko Michelson.

The deputy noted that this decision will also be a response to Russian missile attacks on Ukrainian cities. Sharing a photo of an apartment building partially destroyed by a rocket explosion in Zaporizhzhya, Michelson noted that he was calling for recognition of the terrorist nature of the Russian Federation's actions.

"Estonia's parliament will present a resolution tomorrow that will call the Russian regime terrorist. Support us!" - he wrote on Twitter.

Michelson did not specify whether it is about the introduction of the project or agreed plans for its adoption already on Tuesday. The current week in the Parliament of Estonia is a session, when decisions are made.

Previously, he had already reached an agreement with his colleagues on the preparation of such a document. At the end of September, Marco Michelson stated that the committee headed by him "unanimously holds the opinion that the Riigikogu (parliament) should prepare a statement that recognizes the Russian regime as a terrorist and Russia as a state sponsor of terrorism," he said.

As you know, Ukraine demands from the USA recognition of such a status by Russia. The interview of Oksana Markarova, the ambassador of Ukraine to the USA, explains in detail why it is about the "sponsor of terrorism".

Last August, the Sejm of Latvia recognized Russia as a state sponsor of terrorism.
