NATO sees no sign that Kremlin leader Vladimir Putin has changed his goals for the war against Ukraine. On the contrary, Russia is preparing for a new offensive.

 This was stated by NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg during a speech at the CHEY Institute for Advanced Studies in Seoul.

 "Today, no one can say when the war will end. But what we know for sure is that this aggressive war is provoked by Putin. He has decided to invade another country, a sovereign democratic state in Europe, and he can end the war today. But the problem is that we don't see any signs that he and the authorities in Moscow are preparing for peace," Stoltenberg said.

 According to him, the opposite is currently observed in the actions of the Russian Federation.

 "We see that they are preparing for a new offensive, that they are mobilizing more soldiers, more than 200,000 people, and maybe even more. That they are actively building up weapons and ammunition," Stoltenberg says.

 The Secretary General also noted that the Russian Federation is building up its arsenal thanks to the support of other authoritarian states, such as Iran and North Korea.

 "And most importantly, we don't see any signs that President Putin has changed his common goal of this invasion, which is to control the neighbor, to control Ukraine. So, while that is the case, we have to be prepared for a long way," he emphasized. Stoltenberg.

 In turn, he emphasized the importance of preventing Putin from winning the war, as it would be a tragedy not only for Ukrainians, but also dangerous for the civilized world.

 "That is why it is so important that we continue to support Ukraine. I welcome the support from NATO allies, partners and the Republic of Korea, and we must be ready," Stoltenberg said.

 In the end, the NATO Secretary General admitted that, most likely, "this war will end at the negotiating table at some stage."

 "But what we know for sure is that what happens at this table is inextricably linked and completely dependent on the situation on the battlefield. Therefore, if we really want Ukraine to win as a sovereign, independent state in Europe , we need to support it now. As long as Putin believes that he can win on the battlefield, he will not sit down at the negotiating table. So the paradox is that, in fact, military support for Ukraine is the best way to achieve a peaceful negotiated solution to the war," added Stoltenberg .
