Russia is afraid of a counteroffensive and has built large-scale defense systems - British intelligence

British intelligence adds that Russia has also dug hundreds of miles of trenches within internationally recognized Russian territory, particularly in the Belgorod and Kursk regions.

Since the summer of 2022, Russia has built one of the largest systems of military defense structures the world has seen in decades.

This was announced by the British Ministry of Defense on Twitter.

It is noted that these defense structures are located not only near the current front line, but also deep in the occupied territories.

"The images show that Russia is making special efforts to strengthen the northern border of the occupied Crimea, including with a multi-layered defense strip near the village of Medvedivka," the report says.

British intelligence adds that Russia has also dug hundreds of miles of trenches within internationally recognized Russian territory, particularly in the Belgorod and Kursk regions.

"The defense emphasizes the deep concern of Russian leaders that Ukraine can achieve a major breakthrough," the Ministry of Defense emphasizes.

Separately, it is emphasized that some of the works were likely commissioned by local commanders and civilian leaders in an attempt to push the official narrative that Ukraine and NATO "threat" Russia.

Earlier it was reported that the military leadership of the Russian Federation does not release even seriously wounded invaders from the battlefield.

In recent months, the Russian army has also strengthened control over discipline. The invaders began to be put in underground prisons for their crimes.
