CSTO exercises in Belarus may increase Russia's military presence on the border with Ukraine - Nayev

Serhiy Nayev, the commander of the Joint Forces, expressed concerns about the CSTO exercises in Belarus, believing that it could provoke an increase in Russia's military presence and renewed activity on Ukraine's northern border.

In his statement, Nayev said: "Given the fact that Russia has not achieved its strategic goals, we cannot rule out the search for new reasons to resume active operations on the northern border. Therefore, the organization of provocations and sabotage on the Ukrainian-Belarusian border is not excluded."

However, the commander emphasized that there are currently no clear signs of the formation of strike groups. According to him, the military forces of Belarus and Russia are focused mainly on conducting deterrent and defensive operations on their territory.
