The United States of America may have decided to regroup its armed forces in Niger and partially withdraw personnel from the country. This was reported by Reuters.


"The Pentagon will redeploy some troops and equipment from Niger and withdraw a small number of non-core personnel 'for reasons of caution,'" the publication quotes unnamed American officials.


However, the exact number of troops and personnel to be deployed has not been officially specified.

It should be noted that there are currently about 1,100 US troops stationed in Niger.
