"The incident happened on the Kyiv-Chop highway near the village of Berezivka, Zhytomyr district, at about ten in the morning on November 3, 2023. The car driven by the MP hit a pedestrian. It was established that the MP was driving in excess of the speed limit, contrary to the requirements of the traffic rules. The 18-year-old girl died at the scene from her injuries," the statement said.
Nikolayenko was notified of suspicion of violating the rules of road safety, which caused the death of the victim, that is, of committing a criminal offense under Part 2 of Article 286 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. A motion to impose a pre-trial restraint on him has been filed with the court.
