On the morning of January 8, during a combined missile attack by Russian troops on Ukraine, 6 explosions occurred in the Khmelnytskyi region. This was stated by the Khmelnytsky Regional Military Administration.
"Today, Khmelnytskyi region woke up to the Russian attacks. As a result of the attack, at least 6 explosions were heard in the region. Operational and rescue services are working at the sites of the attacks," the statement said.
Details of the attack are expected to be revealed later. The authorities urged citizens to refrain from taking photos and videos of the consequences of the attacks while emergency services are operating.
According to the Ukrainian Air Force, during the air raid, cruise missiles changed course and entered the airspace of Khmelnytskyi region. Residents of Starokonstantyniv and Shepetivka were urged to hide in shelters.

Two people were killed in the shelling of Khmelnytskyi region on January 8. A house in the regional center was damaged by the attack. This was reported by the National Police of Ukraine.
"The enemy struck at infrastructure facilities in the region. There was a fire that was localized by the State Emergency Service units. Unfortunately, we have two dead people - men born in 1947 and 1964," - said Tyurin.
Currently, the liquidation of the consequences of the strike is ongoing. In particular, according to Tyurin, residential buildings were damaged, and windows were smashed in houses.
"In the city of Khmelnytskyi, two people were killed and an apartment building was damaged by Russian missile fire," the National Police of Ukraine stated.
The deputy head of the RMA also added that in the morning, during an air alert within the Khmelnytskyi region, air defense systems shot down two enemy missiles.
