Russian investigators claim to have identified the remains of those killed in the IL-76 crash: Ukraine does not confirm damages

Russia's Investigative Committee says it has identified the remains of those killed in the IL-76 crash.

Genetic examinations, according to the investigators, "allowed us to draw an unequivocal conclusion" that the recovered body fragments belonged to 65 Ukrainian servicemen, 6 crew members, and 3 military police officers.

In total, more than 670 body fragments were found and recovered in the area of the crash site. Footage of some of the tattoos on the bodies was also published.

Earlier, Moscow claimed that the plane was shot down by the Ukrainian Armed Forces using a Patriot air defense system.

Ukraine neither confirmed nor denied the damage or the deaths of the prisoners.
